چکیده

Bench- and pilot-scale successive multi-batch trials were conducted to investigate the performance sustainability of fungal conditioning with Penicillium simplicissimum NJ12 for improving sludge dewatering. The dominant factors affecting dewaterability improvement by P. also identified. Fungal treatment at a volume fraction 5% inoculum greatly improved dewaterability. This was characterized sharp decreases in specific resistance filtration from 1.97 × 1013 3.52 1011 m/kg capillary suction time 32 12 s within 3 days. Stepwise multiple linear regression analysis showed that marked decrease (58.8%) protein content slime extracellular polymeric substances an increase zeta potential (from −35 −10 mV) most important after treatment. Consecutive processes could be realized recirculating fungal-treated recycling rate 1:2 (Vbiotreated sludge/Vtotal sludge). effectiveness maintained only over three cycles, but replenishment fresh would provided periodically set batch intervals. These findings demonstrate possibility NJ12-assisted enhancing

Pilot-scale peroxidation (H2O2) of sewage sludge.

Municipal and industrial wastewater treatment plants produce large amounts of sludge. This excess sludge is an inevitable drawback inherent to the waste activated sludge process. Both the reduction of the amount of sludge produced and improving its dewaterability are of paramount importance. Novel pre-treatment processes have been developed in order to improve sludge dewatering, handling and di...

Drying of Municipal Sewage Sludge: from a Laboratory Scale Batch Indirect Dryer to the Paddle Dryer

Among available technologies, disk and paddle dryers are often encountered in France to process municipal sewage sludge but their thermal design is still a question of know how rather than scientific knowledge. From experiments performed on an industrial Naratherm paddle dryer and the literature, a simple model has been developed. The dryer is divided into two parts depending on the sludge cons...

Optimization of process parameters for pilot-scale liquid-state bioconversion of sewage sludge by mixed fungal inoculation.

Liquid-state bioconversion (LSB) technique has great potential for application in bioremediation of sewage sludge. The purpose of this study is to determine the optimum level of LSB process of sewage sludge treatment by mixed fungal (Aspergillus niger and Penicillium corylophilum) inoculation in a pilot-scale bioreactor. The optimization of process factors was investigated using response surfac...

Decolorization of different textile dyes by Penicillium simplicissimum and toxicity evaluation after fungal treatment

The objective of this study was to investigate the capacity of decolorization and detoxification of the textile dyes Reactive Red 198 (RR198), Reactive Blue 214 (RB214), Reactive Blue 21 (RB21) and the mixture of the three dyes (MXD) by Penicillium simplicissimum INCQS 40211. The dye RB21, a phthalocyanine, was totally decolorized in 2 days, and the others, the monoazo RR198, the diazo RB214 an...

Accelerating Aerobic Sludge Granulation by Adding Dry Sewage Sludge Micropowder in Sequencing Batch Reactors.

Micropowder (20-250 µm) made from ground dry waste sludge from a municipal sewage treatment plant was added in a sequencing batch reactor (R2), which was fed by synthetic wastewater with acetate as carbon source. Compared with the traditional SBR (R1), aerobic sludge granulation time was shortened 15 days in R2. Furthermore, filamentous bacteria in bulking sludge were controlled to accelerate a...
